The People of Wal-Mart

I was recently introduced to a fabulous form of free entertainment: The People of Wal-Mart.   Oh yeah.  You read it right.  This website features Wal-Mart's finest shoppers.  It was started by three friends who were inspired by a memorable WM trip.  They have nothing against WM, but like most of us..find lots of interesting people hanging out there.  So they started a blog in which anyone can submit photos of their favorite "Wal-Creatures."  The captions are even funnier than the photos.  Here's a sampling of what you'll find on your visit....

Happy Hump Day!

I've been carrying around my camera more often in my regular every day life.  The day I took this picture, I worked all day and didn't find one single cool thing to photograph.  As the day came to an end, I walked out to the parking lot, pouting about my lack of snazzy shots.  As I approached my car, I noticed this "smile" on the asphalt.  And there it was.  My snazzy photo, staring back up at me and SMILING!  I found it interesting that someone drove over this tree branch just enough to split it down the middle, but not enough to pulverize it.  This smile reminds me of a friendly cartoon monster mouth or something like that.  What does it remind you of?  Next time you're out and about, look for something interesting in the ordinary! 

Ms. Warhol in the Making

Check out this totally rad picture I took of myself.  Is this Andy Warhol or what???  I was in an experimental mood and thought I'd take some shots of me...without the flash.  Look what came out!  I'm not exactly sure how this happened because some of the shots were normal.  But a few of them had this overexposed reddish contrast, almost like a negative.  I love it!  Now I must find a way to use this in some sort of art project or collage.  Hmmmm.  Moral of the story - Take pictures of yourself.  Experiment with the all the different settings on your camera.  Watch what happens.
