Press-on nails are making a comeback... big time.
The imPRESS brand has some fantastic online reviews, but I needed a first hand trial run to see what all the fuss was about.
They were easy to apply and lasted four full days. The manicure could have lasted much longer if I left the nails in place, probably several more days. imPRESS says their nails will last up to a week, and I'd agree with that claim.
I prefer short nails, so I clipped and filed mine down, which added a lot of time to this "instant" and "fast" mani. But if you're into long nails or have long nail beds, then you would probably skip this step.
Clipping the nails exposed some extra adhesive which resulted in weird glue balls forming under the nail and somewhat protruding out on occasion. And the glue balls were lint magnets, so that was a bit odd.
The removal was simple and fairly quick. I tried to minimize any damage to my nail beds by using an orange stick to wiggle each nail off. There was some visible damage at first, but after I rubbed in a good coat of nail oil, they went back to normal.
Each package runs $6-8 with 24 nails/12 sizes. You can find them at most drug stores, Target, Wal-Mart, etc.
I washed my hair with them on and did all my normal life stuff. They stayed shiny, and I felt well-groomed while wearing them. Matching up the right nail sizes took some time, and the glue balls kinda skeeved me out, but overall I give imPRESS nails two thumb nails up!
Have you tried any press-on nails? How did they work for you?
